One of my goals for 2012 is to grow my art portfolio. For the last year I have mostly been creating videogame fanart and commissions, and although fun, they’re not really pushing my creativity. Because of this, I’m currently in the process of emptying my Etsy store so I can come back soon with fresh new stock!
Videogame-related commissions are still open for those interested, just send me a message on my “contact” page and we’ll chat.

Sale ends Feb 1st, 2012.
Here’s the time lapse video I promised in my last post. The music is Noah & The Whale’s “Give It All Back” and the custom took about two hours to complete (between tea breaks!).
I finally got around to painting my Vinyl Eeerz figurine! Of course, it had to be insect themed. I’m currently working on a time lapse video so expect to see that in a few hours. EDIT: You can see the time lapse video here!
This is the first vinyl figurine I have tried customizing and I really enjoyed it. I’ll definitely try something more ambitions next time.

I take a lot of photos and such that don’t really warrant their own blog posts, but would be nice to share, thus I’ve created a new Tumblr page! How exciting.
I’m hoping to start some kind of photography challenge on there in the New Year – perhaps a one-a-day type thing but we’ll see. If you’ve got a Tumblr page of your own, post a link in the comments on simply follow me and I’ll check it out.
Of course, no Tumblr would be complete without an animated gif to kick it off!

I did my second body suspension yesterday. I felt a much greater sense of freedom with two hooks that I didn’t get with the Angel suspension I did in the Summer.
I was hanging for just over an hour and was swinging for most of that time – it was so much fun! Really looking forward to the next event now and I’ve already racked up a list of different types of suspensions I want to try next year. I dragged my friend Steve from Daily Joypad along to see the event and he wanted to do some filming which produced the awesome video below!
The music is ‘The Night’ by School of Seven Bells.
The video contains images of body piercing. It’s not violent but some may find it uncomfortable to watch.
Big thanks to the lovely Rolf Buchholz for the wonderful photos!

Working for a games company usually means, well, I work with video games. But occasionally we get to try our hand at something new. Last week I was promoting some vinyl art toys called ‘DIY Eeerz’. These toys are modeled on the crazy characters, the Rabbids, and are designed to be customised. To promote the launch we paired up with Forbidden Planet in London and a bunch of amazing artists to showcase some truly fantastic customs.
Since painting and drawing is a hobby of mine, I was especially interested to take part in the drawing workshops with the artists and take a look at how they have changed their Eeerz into something of their own. I’ve got my own Eeerz model sat on my desk, but I plan to do a time-lapse video the painting process in the next few weeks.
Photos from the event are below, many I took for work – hence the logos, but there are a few extras thrown in! You can use the image browser to see the full photoset and scroll down to see my favourites and my comments.

Me and @monobrowser looking rather proud of our artistic contributions

Yes. That is my Skyrim character. DON’T JUDGE ME!

@Fantaman posing next to a drawing I made of his alter-ego “Mr Cool”.
We found the very talented Gagaman doodling up some Rabbids.
Oh and I totally nabbed some of Gagaman’s doodles for my desk at work.
