Shadow of the Colossus Pop Art

shadowwip2 It’s finally done! This is the largest painting I have completed to date. Luckily it was based on a game I adore and really works in my style. The background was so much fun to work on as I was working with layers of watered down acrylic and water colour paints. I was literally throwing and pouring it down the canvas, messy but fun and effective! You can see a WIP picture on the left.

All together this painting took approximately 10hours as the watery paint too a long time to dry. I’m really pleased with the final outcome and the customer is very happy – which is the most important thing! I’ll hopefully be heading into London to drop it off to him this weekend. I really love dropping off paintings in person if I can, it just seems so much more personal.

I was taken aback by the response to this painting when I posted it on twitter. I wasn’t expecting so much positive feedback, it was really flattering. It also secured me three more commissions which I am in the process of designing. I never considered that people would be this interested in purchasing my work, it’s wonderful! Thank you to everyone who left feedback and that have encouraged me, I really love creating these pieces.
