(Thanks to Sandara for the awesome picture of Garrus!)
I’m not dead, honest. Anyone who has been following my unrelenting fangirling on Twitter the last few days should know this post would appear soon.
I finished Mass Effect 2 this evening.
My God what a game. It has easily become my favourite game of all time. I am a huge fan of the first game. The gameplay, characters, story, everything was, in my opinion, perfect. Although I was incredibly hyped about the sequel, I was very nervous. Were they doing to keep the main characters? Would the story and gameplay be as strong as before? I deliberately put myself on a media blackout. I somehow managed to avoid every single news piece, screen shot and trailer before I had it in my hands. Impressive when you think how quickily news travels on sites such as twitter, and of course putting my job into consideration.
Over the five days I have had Mass Effect 2 I have pumped a ridiculous 40 hours into it. I would stop playing at 5:30am and get the urge to pick up the controller as soon as I woke. Crazy. It’s like Bioware had brainwashed me. Forget the Reapers, Shepard, you should turn your attention to Bioware! I plan to play through the game a second time. I’ve been a Paragon, now it’s time to be a Renegade. The only issue I have with being a Renegade is that I personally find the evil/bad choices hard to make. I feel guilty. Especially since Bioware have put some extreme choices in there. Aww what a cute little puppy, I think I’ll kick it!
I would post a more in-depth review of the game but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. There will definitely be another post in the next few weeks, to give people a bit more time to play it.
Oh and ok, I couldn’t post this without a little bit of Garrus love… The romance options made me a very happy fangirl. I love me some Garrus and his personality was really well developed in the second game. I am definitely going after Thane next. Mmmm Garrus and Thane!
